Jaipur, July 31: BJP state president Madan Rathore has criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, stating that his political understanding is not yet mature and that he continues to engage in childish behavior. During a media interaction in New Delhi, Rathore addressed various issues, including internal conflicts within the Rajasthan Congress, student movements, laws against paper leaks, and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
Rathore asserted that there was no attack on students regarding the incident Rahul Gandhi commented on. He claimed that some anti-social elements infiltrated the movement, attempting to shout anti-India slogans and make derogatory remarks against the Prime Minister, which led to students withdrawing from the protest.
These statements reflect the BJP president’s political claims. The opposition and protesters may have a different perspective on the events in question.
“No Tolerance for Compromising Students’ Futures”
Rathore emphasized that any compromise on the lives and futures of students will not be tolerated. He claimed that stringent penalties have been introduced in the law to curb crimes related to paper leaks and the use of unfair means in recruitment exams.
He stated that strict legal provisions would instill fear in criminals and help effectively curb future examination-related malpractices.
Allegations of Leadership Struggles in Congress
The BJP state president accused Congress of becoming a group of varying political mentalities and personal ambitions. He alleged that there is competition for leadership among several leaders, including Rajasthan Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, opposition leader Tikaram Julie, and Sachin Pilot.
Rathore referenced a recent incident involving Mahendrajeet Singh Malviya and supporters at a Congress event, noting that Dotasra’s comments revealed the ongoing strife within Congress.
He claimed that the priorities of Congress leaders have shifted from national interest to personal political gain and leadership aspirations.
“Opposition’s Demands Change After Minister’s Response”
Rathore accused the opposition of adopting a double standard. He pointed out that while the opposition speaks of collective ministerial accountability, they change their demands when a government minister responds in the assembly.
He remarked that the opposition lacks solid issues, prompting them to repeatedly create new controversies.
BJP’s Clear Stance on UCC
On the issue of the Uniform Civil Code, Rathore stated that the BJP firmly believes in having uniform laws for all citizens, ensuring equal rights and facilities for everyone.
He added that the UCC is a significant part of the BJP’s political agenda. According to Rathore, many leaders advocated for it during the time of independence, and the judiciary has also indicated the need for consideration of this matter on various occasions.
