
Udaipur, March 13: The block-level swimming competitions under the Panch Gaurav program concluded successfully on Thursday, directed by District Collector Namit Mehta. The final day featured competitions from Udaipur city, Badgaon, Kurabad, Vallabhnagar, Bhinad, and Mavli blocks.
District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal stated that the swimming talent search was organized to discover and encourage sports talents in the district. The competitions took place at the Krishna Raj Hotel swimming pool.
In the Kurabad block competition, 28 talented swimmers participated under the guidance of Ganpat Singh Jhalla, Rajesh Chauhan, and Sarita Bharti. The Vallabhnagar block saw 65 swimmers competing, overseen by block in-charge Manohar Sen, Dilip Lohar, Kachan Devda, and Devilal Menaria. In the Bhinad block, 45 swimmers participated under the supervision of block in-charge Vijay Menaria, Lakshmilaal Gurjar, and Naresh Menaria. The chief guest for the event was Bhawarlal Bhatt, with Prakash Menar presiding over the ceremony. Distinguished guests included Dhanraj Ahir and Hiralal Suthar. The competition concluded with the presence of physical education teachers from four blocks, who awarded the swimmers.
Additionally, competitions for Badgaon and Udaipur city were held at Maharana Pratap Sports Village. Approximately 40 swimmers from Udaipur city participated. In the girls’ category, Nandini Singh Bhalla and Mansavi Singh Ranawat excelled in the 50-meter breaststroke, while Yashvi Patel and Nandika Soni triumphed in the 100-meter backstroke. Eva Kumawat and Riya Aswani won in the 100-meter freestyle, and Yoshita Vyas and Meshwa Somani were victorious in the 50-meter freestyle.
In the boys’ category, Navraj Singh Rathore, Manthan Kumawat, Goraksh Joshi, Abhijit Paliwal, Jai Raj Vaishnav, and Shivansh Vaishnav won in the 50-meter freestyle. Saurav Kumawat and Vansh Lakshkar excelled in the 50-meter breaststroke, while Aman Vaishnav and Gourang Paliwal took the lead in the 50-meter backstroke. Kalp Somani and Krishna Aswani won in the 100-meter freestyle, and Himansh Malviya and Vijay Gameti excelled in the 100-meter backstroke.
In the Badgaon girls’ category, Vidhi Sanadhya won the 50-meter breaststroke, while Ananya Dadhich triumphed in the 100-meter freestyle. Lakshita Menaria and Nirvi Dhakad excelled in the 50-meter backstroke, and Chitrakshi Kunwar Dodia, Vibha Pancholiya, Veera Pancholiya, and Trishika Bhatnagar were victorious in the 50-meter freestyle.
In the boys’ category from Badgaon, Vidhan Sanadhya and Maulik Paliwal won in the 50-meter freestyle, while Govind Singh Rathore, Granth Soni, and Naresh Gameti excelled in the 100-meter freestyle.
The District Sports Officer announced that selected participants will receive specialized training from expert coaches during a 15-day residential camp at Maharana Pratap Sports Village, Udaipur, from March 13 to March 28.
