Jaipur, February 5 : Following rainfall across the state, the impact of cold northern winds has led to a significant drop in temperatures in Rajasthan. Dense fog was observed in several cities on Wednesday morning, as temperatures dipped between 2 to 8 degrees Celsius. The cold wave is expected to further intensify in the coming days, especially in the Shekhawati region, where cold wave conditions may persist.
Four cities in the state recorded night temperatures below 5°C, with Fatehpur experiencing the coldest night at 3.9°C.

Temperature Drop Likely to Continue
According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of the Meteorological Center, the weather in Rajasthan is likely to remain dry for the next week. Due to northern winds, minimum temperatures could drop by another 2-3°C in the next 48 hours.
The Shekhawati region is expected to record minimum temperatures between 3-5°C, with some areas likely experiencing cold wave conditions. A total of 21 cities recorded night temperatures below 10°C, while Barmer recorded the warmest day at 28.7°C and Kota had the warmest night at 13.3°C. Other notable temperature readings included Sangaria at 4°C, Mount Abu at 4.4°C, and Nagaur at 4.5°C.
Dense Fog and Cold Winds Engulf Jaipur
Jaipur witnessed moderate fog on Wednesday morning, causing reduced visibility and forcing vehicle drivers to use headlights during early hours. Throughout the day, cold winds continued to blow despite sunny conditions.
Due to the northern wind effect, Jaipur’s night temperature dropped by more than 5°C. In the coming days, the cold wave is expected to intensify further in the capital city.
Jaipur recorded a maximum temperature of 24.9°C and a minimum temperature of 11.4°C. However, a slight rise in daytime temperatures was observed.
