Congress Leader Accuses Government of Election Fraud in Sikar

Sikar, October 27: Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra stated on Monday that the government aims to manipulate the upcoming Panchayat elections, similar to the municipal elections. He emphasized that the rural populace will not allow such practices. Dotasra claimed that the government misused police and administrative resources to form boards during the municipal elections, which led to a halt in development for two and a half years. Regarding the Yamuna water issue, he criticized the government for its repeated claims while noting that not a single drop of water has reached Shekhawati.
UDH Minister Faces Criticism Over Sikar Master Plan Cancellation
Dotasra held UDH Minister Jhabar Singh Kharra accountable for the cancellation of the Sikar Municipal Council’s master plan. He revealed that the plan was developed by MNIT at a cost of approximately 5 crores, of which around 4.5 crores has already been paid to the agency. He questioned who would recover this amount now.
He noted that during the Congress government’s tenure, the master plan was completed within five to six months but was stalled due to the imposition of the model code of conduct. The BJP government took a year and a half for legal testing and after addressing objections, the UDH minister himself released the draft, only to cancel it later without any explanation. Dotasra labeled this as a politically motivated act.
38 Villages Stuck in Limbo
Dotasra mentioned that based on the master plan, the UIT included 38 villages. Currently, these villages are neither governed by rural regulations nor classified as urban, resulting in a standstill in development activities. Residents had purchased residential and commercial properties based on the designated facility areas in the master plan, which has now left them in a state of uncertainty.
He added that if the UDH minister believes that the cancellation of the master plan would benefit Congress leaders, the government should conduct an investigation. Dotasra also announced that over one lakh workers from all assembly constituencies in Rajasthan will participate in the “Save Democracy” rally in Delhi on November 1.
