Congress Welcomes 68 New Members Amid Ongoing Panchayat Elections

Jaipur, October 12: Congress state president Govind Singh Dotasra welcomed leaders and workers from the BJP into the Congress party on Sunday. This event took place in Kotputli, Sapotra, Todabhim, Lalsot, and Gangapur City. A total of 68 individuals were inducted, with 21 from Kotputli and 47 from the other regions.

Dotasra expressed confidence that these new members would strengthen the party’s ideology. He emphasized that under the leadership of party president Mallikarjun Kharge and opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, they would robustly defend the Constitution. This membership drive occurs amidst the ongoing Panchayat elections.

Among the 47 new members from Sapotra, Todabhim, Lalsot, and Gangapur City, 12 are retired officials and individuals connected to administrative services, making up nearly a quarter of the list. This group includes two retired IAS officers and several from the police service.

In the Kotputli region, notable BJP figures joining Congress include OBC Morcha state officer Engineer Subhash Ghoghar, district council member Ameechand Dhanka, municipal councilor Krishna Chhawdi, and senior BJP leader Gopal Singh Shekhawat.

Additionally, former BJP block president Mukesh Siradhana and several other local leaders have also switched allegiance to Congress.

The event was attended by MP Murarilal Meena, former MLA and president of the Behror-Kotputli Congress Committee Indraj Gurjar, former MLA Ved Solanki, and other party officials.
