Delhi High Court Intervenes in CLAT PG 2025 Dispute, Orders Key Corrections and Suggests Fee Reforms

New Delhi, June 7 — In a major relief to thousands of aspirants who appeared for the CLAT PG 2025 exam, the Delhi High Court has stepped in to address key concerns regarding the revised answer key and the objection process. The decision is expected to bring transparency and fairness to the postgraduate law admission process conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs).

Court Acknowledges Errors in CLAT PG Answer Key

Multiple students had petitioned the court, raising objections over inaccuracies in the answer key and questioning the hefty objection fee. After carefully reviewing the matter, the court found errors in questions 21 and 98, both of which were deemed incorrectly framed and subsequently corrected by the Consortium.

In addition, question 56 was dismissed altogether due to a typographical mistake, while question 57 was validated and retained. These changes could significantly affect the scores and ranks of several candidates.

₹1,000 Objection Fee Under Scrutiny

One of the most debated issues was the ₹1,000 fee per objection, which many students argued was unaffordable and unjust. The Delhi High Court acknowledged that the fee is on the higher side and recommended a more equitable system for students to raise legitimate concerns without being burdened financially.

To implement this, the court proposed the formation of an expert Committee headed by retired Justice G. Raghuram to review and recommend a fairer process for future exams.

Revised Results and Counselling Schedule Awaited

With corrections to the answer key now acknowledged by the court, the Consortium of NLUs is expected to release a revised result and updated rank list soon. This could open new opportunities for candidates whose scores may now improve under the amended key.
