Dausa, August 10: Thousands gathered at the Panch Athai complex in Nangal Pyariwas to celebrate the second day of the World Tribal Day festival. Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena attended the event, where he made significant remarks regarding reservation policies. He urged the public not to be misled by rumors about the termination of reservations.
During his address, Dr. Meena confidently stated, “As long as there is life in me, no one can harm the reservation.” He emphasized the importance of unity among the youth against social evils and substance abuse, encouraging them to prioritize education, discipline, and social responsibility for the strength of society.
Dr. Meena arrived at the Panch Athai complex in a procession from Titoli Toll, accompanied by numerous supporters. Upon reaching the venue, he was warmly welcomed by thousands. A book detailing his political journey, movements, and struggles was also launched during the event.
Reflecting on his extensive political career, Dr. Meena shared that he has participated in around 600 movements, faced imprisonment 17 times, and dealt with 138 legal cases. He vowed to continue his fight against corruption and for public welfare, despite facing numerous challenges throughout his political life.
He recounted an incident that led to the Panch Athai complex being referred to as the ‘Meena High Court.’ He explained that a large gathering of people had assembled for a local issue, which resulted in a march towards Dausa with around 50,000 participants, including many women.
Dr. Meena noted that after advancing a few kilometers, the police brought 14 village heads and handed them over to the people. He expressed confusion over the administration’s decision at that time. He concluded by stating that the strength of the people is paramount, and this historical struggle led to the recognition of Panch Athai as the ‘Meena High Court.’
The World Tribal Day festival also featured various cultural programs celebrating tribal culture, traditions, and social unity, with significant participation from the community.
