Congress to Launch Save Vote, Save Nation Movement Post-Diwali with Focus on States

Jaipur, November 8: The Congress party is set to unveil its ‘Save Vote, Save Nation’ movement after Diwali, shifting its focus from Delhi to various states. This initiative aims to address concerns regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi have spent four consecutive days strategizing with leaders from Rajasthan to enhance the movement’s impact.
Approximately 90 leaders, including five former chief ministers, have been integrated into the strategic team of the Gandhi family. These leaders are tasked with developing distinct plans for the upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections in 2028, the Lok Sabha elections in 2029, the Punjab elections, and the movement against SIR.
The next Rajasthan Assembly election is still about two years away, but preparations are already underway. Former Chief Ministers Ashok Gehlot, Bhupender Singh Hooda from Haryana, Bhupesh Baghel from Chhattisgarh, Harish Rawat from Uttarakhand, and Digvijaya Singh from Madhya Pradesh have been asked to formulate specific strategies.
Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and General Secretary K.C. Venugopal have concentrated on gathering insights from party secretaries, state in-charges, Congress Working Committee (CWC) members, and leaders from states with upcoming elections. Individual discussions have been conducted to gather diverse opinions.
Rahul Gandhi convened selected leaders for a high tea meeting in Delhi, which included Ashok Gehlot, Rajasthan Congress President Govind Singh Dotasra, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie, and Sachin Pilot. Each leader had separate discussions with Rahul.
Sachin Pilot initially met Rahul to discuss plans for Punjab, followed by a strategy session with Ashok Gehlot regarding SIR. Subsequently, Rahul and Sonia Gandhi collaborated with Dotasra and Julie to finalize specific plans. Over four days, strategic discussions were held with various leaders, and work on Rahul Gandhi’s plans has already commenced.
The Congress party is currently keeping the details of its new movement under wraps. There has been no official agenda released following the brainstorming session involving over 100 leaders and strategists. Party sources indicate that the agenda will be disclosed after Diwali, aligning state units with the movement’s direction.
The movement’s significant milestone occurred on November 1 during the ‘Save Vote, Save Nation’ rally at Ram Leela Maidan in Delhi, where Rahul Gandhi called for the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the suspension of SIR.
