Jaipur, April 12: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state government, claiming that promises made during the assembly elections have not been honored. He pointed out that the Prime Minister assured the public in Chittorgarh that no schemes initiated by the Congress government would be discontinued, yet the reality tells a different story.
Speaking to the media after paying tribute to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule in Jaipur, Gehlot stated that many initiatives started during his tenure have either been shut down or had their names changed. He accused the Prime Minister of failing to uphold his own commitments, while the state government appears indifferent to the situation.
In a social media post, Gehlot reiterated the same concerns, emphasizing that the promises made to the people of Rajasthan remain unfulfilled, adversely affecting numerous welfare schemes. He urged the government to strengthen social security programs and provide relief to the common people.
Gehlot highlighted that citizens are not receiving pensions on time, and healthcare services are also being compromised. He expressed that the public is distressed and called for the government to take decisive action in this regard.
Referencing the ideals of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule, he stressed that the government should prioritize the welfare of the poor and focus on social security.
He further accused the state government of inaction, stating that it is not addressing ground-level issues while the Chief Minister remains preoccupied with tours. The government needs to assess the actual situation in the state and resolve the public’s problems.
