Gwalior, February 19, 2025 A sudden cloud cover and light drizzle on Tuesday morning brought a noticeable drop in temperatures across Gwalior, with the maximum temperature plunging by 4.7°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light showers in parts of Gwalior-Chambal division over the next 24 hours.
Weather Shift & Temperature Trends
Over the past few days, Gwalior had been experiencing rising daytime temperatures, ranging between 29°C and 30°C, with February 15 recording a high of 32°C, making the days noticeably warm. However, Tuesday morning saw dense clouds, followed by 15 minutes of light drizzle around 10 AM, leading to a significant temperature drop.
- Maximum Temperature: 24.9°C (4.7°C lower than the previous day and 1.9°C below normal)
- Minimum Temperature: 13.8°C (0.5°C higher than the previous day and 2.6°C above normal)
Impact of the Western Disturbance
According to IMD, a cyclonic circulation over Jammu & Kashmir and northern Pakistan, combined with another induced system over southwestern Rajasthan, has brought moisture-laden winds to the region, causing this sudden weather shift.
Weather Forecast for the Next 24 Hours
The weather change is expected to persist, with light drizzle possible in Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Shivpuri, and Sheopur districts. The IMD also predicts a slight increase in cold conditions, as the mercury is likely to drop further.
As the Western Disturbance moves eastward, the region may experience cloudy skies, occasional drizzle, and cooler temperatures for the next few days before conditions stabilize.
