Indian Lacrosse Team Celebrated For Historic Asian Games Success Daily Udaipur

Udaipur, March 27: Central Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya honored the Indian lacrosse team at his residence for their remarkable achievements at the Asian Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Both the men’s and women’s teams secured historic gold medals in this Olympic sport.

During the ceremony, the minister emphasized that the Indian national teams triumphed in the 2026 Asian Lacrosse Championship through hard work, discipline, and unwavering determination. Witnessing their journey, filled with resolve and perseverance, was truly inspiring.

“This victory is not just a win; it sends a powerful message to the youth of our nation,” he stated. With lacrosse being included in the 2028 Summer Olympics, this dual victory will serve as a spark for our journey towards global success. The minister also discussed India’s participation and potential in the Olympics.

Present at the event were officials from the Lacrosse Federation of India, including Imran Lari, Dr. Ganga Daryaiya, Saurabh Vetal, Shehzad Khan, and Indian team captain Sunita Meena, along with coach Neeraj Batra, Shakeel Khan, and Rajpal Redu.

The minister praised the international success of the Indian lacrosse team and the meaningful efforts of the Lacrosse Federation of India. He reiterated the government’s commitment to enhancing the sport, ensuring comprehensive training facilities for players, and boosting India’s performance in Olympic events.

Additionally, Minister of State for Ayush Pratap Rao Jadhav, Udaipur MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat, and the chairperson of the Sports Authority of India, Raksha Khadse, also welcomed and congratulated the Indian lacrosse team and officials at their respective residences and offices, wishing them success in future endeavors.
