Major Administrative Reshuffle Likely Before Local Polls

Udaipur, March 9 (Daily Udaipur) — The state government is preparing for a large-scale transfer of IAS, IPS, RAS and RPS officers across Rajasthan, including Udaipur, ahead of the upcoming urban local body and Panchayati Raj elections.

 Local Polls

According to sources, several officers currently posted in Udaipur may see a change in their positions, while some may be transferred to other districts. At the same time, officers from other districts could be posted in Udaipur as part of the reshuffle.

Amid speculation about the transfer list, officers are reportedly seeking recommendations from regional MLAs. Interestingly, some legislators are said to be recommending three officers for a single post, apparently to keep more officials satisfied.

To comply with the election code of conduct rules related to home district postings, the government is expected to transfer certain officers. These include RAS officer Latika Paliwal, currently posted as SDM in Badgaon in her home district Udaipur, RAS officer Mansukh Ram Damor, who was posted as SDM in Ghatol (Banswara) four months ago, and RAS officer Rajeev Dwivedi, who was moved from DIG Stamps Udaipur to ADM in his home district Banswara. Their transfers to other districts are considered likely. There is also speculation that Damor and Dwivedi could return to Udaipur again.

Meanwhile, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain may be shifted to another district as District Collector, while Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abhishek Khanna may also be assigned a major responsibility such as District Collector in another district.

Officials who have been posted in Udaipur for the last three to five years in different departments are also likely to be transferred to other districts. At the same time, officers who have been posted away from Udaipur for several years may return.

Sources indicate that officers who have been involved in recent controversies or have remained on the same posts for a long time could also face transfers. The government is planning the administrative reshuffle to maintain balance in governance and improve administrative efficiency across the state.
