Jaipur, June 26: Opposition Leader Tikaram Julie visited Reshu Gupta at her home in Pratap Nagar. Reshu, who supports her family by running a food stall in the Jagatpura area, suffered severe burns when police overturned her stall while clearing the way for the Chief Minister‘s VIP convoy.

After the visit, Julie expressed deep concern upon seeing Reshu’s burned hands. He noted the pain in her eyes, reflecting the loss of her livelihood. Julie described the incident not merely as an accident but as a painful story of how a poor person’s means of survival fell victim to the arrogance of power and VIP culture.

Julie Calls for Strict Action Against Guilty Police Officers
Julie demanded immediate and strict action against the police officers responsible for the incident. He emphasized that if a poor person’s livelihood is endangered due to VIP movements, the government must stand by the affected family.

He remarked that individuals like Reshu Gupta work hard and take pride in their livelihoods. Therefore, any administrative negligence or pressure that affects their means of survival is a serious issue. He urged the government to handle this incident with sensitivity and provide all possible assistance to the victim.

Demands for Compensation and Contract Job
Julie called for appropriate compensation for Reshu Gupta and the provision of a contract job. He stated that given her economic and family circumstances, the government should announce an immediate relief package. Additionally, he insisted that the government should bear the full responsibility for her medical treatment.

Julie highlighted that this incident raises serious questions about VIP culture and public safety. He accused the authorities of ignoring the struggles of the poor and small workers under the influence of power. He stressed that the government should convey that the law and administration exist to protect the poor, not to crush them.

Opposition Criticizes Government
The opposition has been relentless in its criticism of the government regarding Reshu Gupta’s case. Congress leaders demand a fair investigation into the incident linked to the Chief Minister’s convoy arrangements. They insist that the victim deserves justice, better medical care, financial support, and action against those responsible.

Following the incident, political discussions have intensified. The opposition is framing it as an example of VIP culture and administrative insensitivity, while Reshu and her family now look to the government for relief and justice.
