In a major boost to rural housing in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during a program in Motihari on Friday, July 18, released the first installment of ₹40,000 to 40,000 eligible rural beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G). A total of ₹162 crore has been transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts, enabling thousands of families to begin constructing their dream homes.

Additionally, 12,000 families received Griha Pravesh (housewarming) for their newly constructed homes during the same event, marking a historic milestone in the mission to improve rural housing and living standards in Bihar.
