Rajasthan Deputy CM Diya Kumari Applauds Nand Ghar Model During Jaipur Visit, Highlights Impact on Women and Children

Jaipur RAJASTHAN’s Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Diya Kumari visited the Nand Ghar facility in Vidyadhar Nagar, Jaipur, commending the initiative’s role in transforming traditional anganwadis into modern, tech-enabled centers that empower both children and women at the grassroots level. The project, spearheaded by the Anil Agarwal Foundation under Vedanta, is already impacting over 2 lakh children and 1.5 lakh women in the state.

Empowering Rajasthan’s Future with Nand Ghar

During her visit, Smt. Diya Kumari engaged with local women and anganwadi workers (Didis), explored the tech-equipped classrooms featuring LED TVs, smart e-learning modules, and BaLA (Building as Learning Aid) installations, and observed skill development activities that include handicrafts and food processing. These programs not only boost early childhood learning but also contribute to family income and women’s self-reliance.

Vedanta has signed an MoU to develop 25,000 Nand Ghars in Rajasthan, significantly accelerating the state’s efforts to reduce malnutrition and enhance early childhood development.

A Vision for Holistic Development

Shashi Arora, CEO of Nand Ghar, expressed gratitude for the minister’s support and reiterated the project’s commitment:

“We are privileged to host Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Diya Kumari. Her support encourages us to continue fostering holistic development through innovative, scalable, and community-driven solutions.”

Nationwide Impact with Global Best Practices

Currently operating across 15 states with 8,500+ centers, Nand Ghar supports the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme and aligns with flagship missions like POSHAN 2.0, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A notable example is the Balvardhan Project in Dholpur, Rajasthan—an advanced, data-driven initiative run in partnership with John Snow Inc. (JSI) and Rocket Learning to improve child development outcomes.

Technology, Nutrition & Women Empowerment Under One Roof

Every Nand Ghar delivers a wide range of services:

  • Early childhood education through digital learning tools

  • Healthcare and regular check-ups

  • Nutrition support to combat malnutrition

  • Women empowerment programs, including vocational training

With a bold vision to transform the lives of 7 crore children and 2 crore women across 13.7 lakh anganwadis, the Nand Ghar model is redefining social impact by fusing technology, education, and community collaboration.
