Strong Voter Turnout for BJP in Second Phase of Panchayat Elections: Madan Rathore

Jaipur, October 29: BJP state president Madan Rathore announced a significant voter turnout in favor of the party during the second phase of the Panchayati Raj elections. He expressed confidence that after urban local bodies, the BJP will also flourish in Panchayati Raj, fulfilling the promises made in their manifesto. In this phase, voting took place for district council and Panchayat committee members across 124 Panchayat Samitis in 22 districts, with a turnout of 49.27% reported by 3 PM.

Rathore stated that the BJP government has accomplished nearly 78% of the commitments made in the assembly election manifesto within two and a half years. He emphasized that for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, it is essential to develop villages and hamlets.

Urban Facilities to Prevent Migration

Rathore described the BJP’s ‘Village Development Manifesto’ for the Panchayat elections as a roadmap for rural development. He noted the increasing migration from villages to cities over the past three to four decades. By providing education, healthcare, employment, and internet access in villages, residents will have less reason to leave. Digital facilities will be enhanced to ensure that government scheme funds reach people directly through DBT.

He mentioned that health centers, community health centers, and sub-health centers will be established in villages based on population and needs, so residents won’t have to travel to cities for basic medical care. Additionally, there is a commitment to create sports fields in every Gram Panchayat.

Atal Knowledge Centers in Every Panchayat

Rathore pointed out that children from farming, labor, and livestock-rearing families often have to go to cities for education and coaching, incurring extra living and study expenses. Therefore, there are plans to open Atal Knowledge Centers in every Gram Panchayat. These centers will provide youth with internet access, online education, information on competitive exams, application processes, and exam dates.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma urged party workers from Tonk and Sawai Madhopur to mobilize for the Panchayat elections and reiterated the goal of averaging five crore rupees in development work per Gram Panchayat over five years as outlined in the manifesto.
