Three Bears Attack Farmer in Udaipur Village, Man Seriously Injured

UDAIPUR, March 7 (Daily Udaipur): A farmer was seriously injured after being attacked by three bears while irrigating his field in a village near Sayra area of Udaipur district on Friday night.

The incident occurred in Kadecha ki Bhagal village near Royda in the Sayra police station area of Gogunda subdivision, about 50 kilometres from Udaipur. According to information, farmer Prem Singh (40) from Kadechawas village was watering his wheat crop in the field around 8 pm when a group of bears suddenly attacked him.

The bears inflicted deep injuries on his face, head and several other parts of his body, leaving him critically injured. Hearing his cries for help, villagers from nearby fields rushed to the spot and raised an alarm. Their shouting forced the bears to flee into nearby bushes.

The injured farmer was immediately taken to the district hospital in Udaipur late at night, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

After receiving information about the incident, officials from the Forest Department and police personnel from Sayra police station reached the spot. Local village leaders have advised residents not to step out of their homes at night following the attack.

The incident has created fear in the entire area.

A similar incident had occurred in Royda village about three months ago when three bears entered the residential area and attacked a youth named Lalaram (28), son of Bhairaram Gameti. At that time, he was going to Bhairuji temple for पूजा when the bears attacked him between the Panchayat Bhawan and the temple.
