
Chittorgarh, April 22: The Forest Department of Chittorgarh, in collaboration with the Education Department, organized various events to celebrate Earth Day 2026 at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Dhanetkalan.
The event was presided over by Deputy Conservator of Forests, Mr. Rahul Jhajharia (Indian Forest Service). To raise awareness about the environment among students, competitions in essay writing, painting, and quizzes were held.
In the essay writing competition, Ms. Tejaswini Sharma from Class 10 secured the first position, Ms. Madhushree Airwal from Class 11 took second place, and Ms. Rani Salvi from Class 12 came in third. In the painting competition, Ms. Vijayalakshmi Jhala from Class 10 won first place, Ms. Harshita Salvi from Class 4 was second, and Ms. Prachi Chaturvedi from Class 10 finished third. All participants in the quiz competition received consolation prizes in the form of school bags.
Mr. Rahul Jhajharia elaborated on the significance of Earth Day, its objectives, and the current challenges in environmental conservation, encouraging all students to commit to protecting the environment.
The program was conducted by Assistant Conservator of Forests (Headquarters), Mrs. Bhavna Sharma. The event saw active participation from Regional Forest Officer Mr. Devendra Kumar Purohit, range staff, and school staff.
