Ishaan and Abhishek Celebrate Historic T20 World Cup Victory with Team Spirit

New Delhi, March 9: Ishaan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma have reflected on the spirit and unity of the Indian cricket team following their historic win at the T20 World Cup 2026. In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), both players opened up about the emotions tied to their championship journey.

Kishan emphasized the significance of their victory, noting that the host nation had never won this tournament before. In the video released by BCCI TV, he stated, “The host country has never won the World Cup. Here we are. We played with all our hearts. We worked hard throughout the tournament. We were in great spirits. We supported each other. We played exceptionally well, and credit goes to everyone involved, including the support staff. We are here lifting the trophy, and we hope to do it again.”

Abhishek Sharma described winning the World Cup as the best moment of his career, saying, “This is one of the best moments. It is the best moment.”

Kishan praised his teammate, saying, “Look at this champion. It doesn’t matter if you don’t score runs; just stay in a good mood. Even when he wasn’t scoring, he was always there to support others.”

Reflecting on the challenges faced during the tournament, Abhishek credited the team atmosphere and support staff for helping him stay confident. He remarked, “If you had told me we would win the cup and take the last wicket, I would have been very worried during those days because it wasn’t easy for me. I feel proud of the team. The way the coaches and everyone treated me, the support I received made me feel not alone even for a day. You never feel that way in a team. When you’re not scoring well, you might be doing great throughout the year, and then suddenly… I am very proud of the team.”
