Udaipur, March 13 (Daily Udaipur): The state government’s Medical Education Department has appointed senior professor Dr Rahul Jain as the new Principal and Controller of Ravindranath Tagore Medical College (RNT), Udaipur. The order was issued on Thursday. He has been appointed in place of former principal Dr Vipin Mathur, whose three-year tenure has been completed.

Dr Rahul Jain will formally assume charge on Friday at 12:30 pm during the Abhijeet Muhurat. He is currently serving as a senior professor in the Forensic Medicine Department at RNT Medical College and has been associated with the institution for the past several years.
Dr Jain has also been handling additional responsibilities as the superintendent of the district’s largest government hospitals — Ambamata District Hospital and Satellite Hospital in Hiran Magri.
Originally a resident of Bansen in Chittorgarh district and currently residing at Moti Magri in Udaipur, Dr Rahul Jain shared that becoming the principal of RNT Medical College fulfils a long-cherished dream of his late father. His father, the late Dr RC Jain, had served as the Head of the Pathology Department at RNT Medical College and retired from the post. However, he could not realise his wish of becoming the principal of the institution.
Dr Rahul Jain said his father had always wished that his only son would one day become the principal of RNT Medical College. He said that with the blessings of his late father and his only sister, that dream has now come true.
Dr Jain’s wife, Dr Rajul Lodha, is also associated with RNT Medical College and works as a senior professor in the Biochemistry Department.
