Jaipur, March 30: The Karni Sena staged a vigorous protest against the UGC Bill outside the residence of BJP MP Rao Rajendra Singh in Khatipura, Jaipur Rural. Activists rallied from Khatipura to the MP’s home, chanting slogans to express their discontent with the bill. During the demonstration, they waved black flags to signify their opposition to the MP’s silence and pasted posters demanding the withdrawal of the UGC Bill on the MP’s residence and nearby hoardings.
The protest lasted for nearly two hours, but Rao Rajendra Singh was not present at his residence. Despite his absence, the activists continued their demonstration. Sher Singh Kalvi, the chief patron of Karni Sena, stated that they came to question the MP about when he would raise his voice for the students’ interests. He emphasized, “We have consistently voted for you, but now your voice is crucial on our children’s issues.”
Kalvi warned that if the MP does not clarify his position on the UGC Bill soon, the Karni Sena would intensify their protests. The demonstration saw significant participation from local leaders, including District President Narayan Singh Diwarala, Mahendra Singh Prayagpura, Hem Singh Barmer, Councillor Arvind Kulwal, and Rajendra Singh Shekhawat.
