Ajmer, May 30: Congress President of Rajasthan, Govind Singh Dotasra, along with opposition leader Tikaram Julie, engaged with laborers in Farakia village, Ajmer district, on Saturday morning. They participated in manual labor at a MGNREGA worksite and listened to the workers’ issues. After spending the night with Congress district presidents in Kanpura village, Dotasra arrived in Farakia, where he worked alongside approximately 120 MGNREGA laborers, discussing their lives, struggles, and livelihood concerns.
Dotasra emphasized that the blisters on the workers’ hands symbolize not just hard work but also the identity of nation-building and development. He stated that rural laborers shape the future of their villages, communities, and the country through their efforts, and they deserve respect for their contributions.
While conversing with female laborers at the MGNREGA site, Dotasra listened to their problems and discussed issues related to their rights. He assured the women that the Congress Party would strongly advocate for their voices on every platform and continue to fight for labor rights.
Targeting the central government, the Congress state president accused it of attempting to weaken essential schemes like MGNREGA. He warned that if MGNREGA is undermined, the work rights of rural poor and laborers would be adversely affected. The Congress Party will persist in its struggle for labor rights from the state assembly to the Lok Sabha.
During the event, Dotasra and opposition leader Tikaram Julie shared a meal with the laborers. They expressed that the warmth, affection, and simplicity of the laborer families allowed them to experience the true strength of rural India. According to them, the time spent with the laborers was not merely a political event but an emotional journey to understand their lives and struggles.
Dotasra stated that under the leadership of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, the Congress Party stands with the laborers. He mentioned that this initiative, which began in Farakia village, will continue across various districts in Rajasthan.
