Udaipur, April 5: A shocking incident unfolded in the Saira area of Udaipur when the body of a missing man was discovered floating in an open well. The deceased has been identified as Roopa Ram, 54, son of Nanda Gameti. He had left home two days prior to irrigate his fields but did not return.
After continuous searches by family members, his body was spotted in a well without a boundary wall near the fields on Saturday. Upon receiving the information, the Saira police arrived at the scene and, with the help of local residents, managed to retrieve the body after considerable effort. The body has since been sent to the Saira hospital mortuary for an autopsy.
Initial reports suggest that Roopa Ram may have lost his balance while laying pipes in the field, leading to his fall into the well. The absence of a safety wall around the well likely contributed to his inability to save himself, resulting in drowning.
The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. While the incident appears to be accidental at first glance, the true cause of death will be determined following the autopsy report. The village is currently in mourning following this tragic event.
