Udaipur, April 5: A leopard that had instilled fear in the village of Losing in the Gogunda area was captured early Saturday morning by forest officials. The news brought relief to the villagers who had been living in anxiety for three days.
Three days ago, a farmer named Tulsiram Paliwal was attacked by the leopard while working in his field. The leopard struck him on the neck, but a group of monkeys nearby created a ruckus, distracting the leopard and allowing the farmer to escape unharmed.
Since the incident, the villagers had been terrified and hesitant to enter their fields. In response to the situation, the forest department set a trap at the same location where the leopard had been spotted. The leopard was successfully caught on Saturday morning while it was lured by the bait.
According to forest officials, the leopard will undergo a medical examination before being released back into the wild. With its capture, normalcy has returned to the area, alleviating the fears of the local residents.
