Mumbai, April 19: A significant political shift is underway in Bihar, with Samrat Chaudhary poised to be named the new Chief Minister. The formal announcement is expected during the BJP legislative party meeting scheduled for today. Senior party leaders, including National President Nitin Nabin and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, will be present at this crucial gathering. Following this, the NDA meeting at 4 PM will finalize the decision and officially announce the new Chief Minister’s name.
Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar, who has been at the center of Bihar’s politics for nearly 20 years, is set to resign. Reports indicate that he will submit his resignation to the Governor around 3 PM today. This resignation marks the beginning of a new political chapter in Bihar.
Before stepping down, Nitish Kumar chaired his cabinet’s final meeting. He expressed his emotions, stating that since taking office in 2005, he has worked diligently for the state’s development. He also assured that the new government would continue to receive his guidance.
Earlier today, both Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Political activities intensified at the Chief Minister’s residence, where senior JD(U) leaders were seen meeting with Nitish Kumar. Samrat Chaudhary also had a separate meeting with the Chief Minister, further fueling political speculation.
Political analysts believe this change could mark a significant turning point in Bihar’s politics. With new leadership, changes in state policies and administrative priorities may also follow. All eyes are now on today’s meetings and the official announcement that will confirm the next Chief Minister of Bihar.
