Jaipur, July 21: Congress leaders and activists staged a protest at Ambedkar Circle in Jaipur against the detention of Rahul Gandhi during a demonstration in New Delhi related to the NEET paper leak case. The protest escalated as police detained former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and state Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra.
During the protest, Congress legislators and a large number of party workers demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. They accused the government of suppressing the voices of students and the opposition through police action.
The demonstration saw significant participation from Congress members. As police took Gehlot and Dotasra away, several Congress legislators and activists joined them in the police vehicle.
Protesters chanted slogans against the central government, calling for the resignation of the education minister over the NEET paper leak issue. They claimed that the future of millions of students is at stake and demanded accountability from both political and administrative authorities.
In an effort to maintain law and order, police detained Gehlot, Dotasra, and other protesters, relocating them to different locations. Despite being taken into custody, Congress workers continued to voice their dissent against the central government.
Earlier, in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi, and several other opposition leaders were also detained by Delhi police while protesting near Lok Kalyan Marg.
The Congress leaders were demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and a fair investigation into the paper leak cases. Police intervened to disperse the protesters and took them into custody.
The protests against the NEET paper leak have intensified, with ongoing movements led by the Cockroach Public Party in Delhi, addressing alleged irregularities in the exam process. Following police actions against the demonstrators, Congress has ramped up its opposition to the central government.
The Congress party asserts that the paper leak is not merely an issue of examination integrity but a serious matter concerning the future of the youth and the credibility of government institutions. They are demanding accountability from the education minister and immediate action on behalf of the students.
