Ashwini Vaishnaws Humorous Remarks Lighten the Mood at BJP Conference in Jaipur

Jaipur, June 11: Union Minister for Railways, Information and Broadcasting, and Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, brought a touch of humor to the BJP’s ‘Prabuddhjan Vikas Bharat Sankalp Conference’ held in Jaipur on Thursday. Addressing attendees at the Durga Pura Agricultural Research Center, he referenced the development of railway projects while jokingly warning that if the party president, Madan Rathore, gets upset, it could lead to ticket cancellations.

Vaishnaw was providing updates on various railway station redevelopment projects. When discussing the development of the Pali railway station, he playfully asked Rathore for approval on a photo of the project. Upon receiving a nod from Rathore, Vaishnaw quipped, “The president has approved it; let’s keep politics alive!” His light-hearted comments elicited laughter from the gathered party workers and guests.

In his speech, Vaishnaw highlighted that prior to 2014, the development of railway stations was limited to tiles and paint. Now, modern stations are being developed with an eye on the needs of the next 50 years. He noted that Rajasthan’s budget for railway development has surged from approximately ₹682 crores to over ₹10,200 crores. Major stations, including Jaipur Junction and Gandhi Nagar, are undergoing significant modernization.

He stated that the country has chosen development-oriented leadership, moving past politics that hinder progress, and the results are evident in the railway sector. Rajasthan is seeing record investments to strengthen its railway infrastructure.

During the event, Jaipur MP Manju Sharma was mentioned. Vaishnaw recalled that she had promised to treat him to Ghevar upon his visit to Jaipur. In a humorous exchange, Sharma suggested that the Ajmer-Jaipur-Darbhanga train should also be made regular. Vaishnaw assured that he had instructed the North Western Railway officials to act on this request promptly, with a commitment to regularize the train service within two months.

Meanwhile, BJP State President Madan Rathore remarked on the unprecedented changes in the railway and infrastructure sectors under the Prime Minister‘s leadership. He emphasized that railway stations are now being developed with world-class facilities, and Indian railway technology is making its mark internationally. He described GST as a significant reform for the business community, promoting it as “one nation, one tax.”
