New Delhi, November 7: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot attended a Diwali gathering at the residence of Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, located at 5, Sunheri Bagh Road. Gehlot shared on social media that he met with senior colleagues from across the country and discussed the current state of affairs. Photos from the event show Gehlot engaged in conversation with Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi.

‘A Lamp of Hope Dispels Darkness’

Gehlot conveyed that the essence of Diwali is to remind us that no matter how deep the darkness, a single lamp of hope can illuminate it. He emphasized that in a time when politics of hatred and division pose significant challenges, love, brotherhood, and unity are our greatest support. He also extended his best wishes to everyone for the five-day Diwali festival.

Political Tensions in Delhi

Gehlot’s visit to Delhi comes amid a verbal spat with Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma in Rajasthan. Following Sharma’s comments on November 3 in Jodhpur regarding Gehlot, he continued to target him during a rally at Ramleela Maidan on November 5. In response, Gehlot remarked that the fertilizer shop was opened 56 years ago when Sharma was just five years old, and he suggested that the Chief Minister should apologize not to him, but to the public.
