Ajmer, August 23: Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari participated in the Matrushakti Monsoon Fest 2026 held at Dayanand College grounds in Ajmer on Sunday. The event saw a large turnout of women, many dressed in colorful lehariya sarees, enjoying entertainment, competitions, shopping, and various activities.

Diya Kumari inaugurated the festival by releasing white doves and balloons. During the event, she engaged in a chair race, enjoyed swings, and tasted golgappas with Ajmer South MLA Anita Bhadel.

In her address, Diya Kumari emphasized the importance of women taking time for themselves. She stated that while women contribute significantly to their families, it is essential for them to carve out personal time. Such events provide women an opportunity to step away from daily responsibilities and connect socially.

The festival featured various competitions organized by MLA Anita Bhadel, including Miss Lehariya, Miss Traditional, Miss Bridal, and more. Women enthusiastically participated in chair races, housie, ball attack, and other fun activities.

Special activities for children included camel safaris, horse riding, camel carts, children’s chair races, and various games. Women and children who attended with their families enjoyed a day filled with entertaining activities.

Around 100 stalls were set up at the Matrushakti Monsoon Fest, offering handmade rakhi, handicrafts, sarees, suits, bags, wall hangings, mandana, and other artistic products. Unique bags made from flowers and fruit pulp were also showcased.

Food stalls were bustling with visitors, offering a variety of snacks such as noodles, vada pav, kulfi, tea, coffee, shakes, pizza, dosa, paneer cheela, jalebi, fried rice, pani puri, and chaat. Entry to the event was completely free.

To raise awareness about legal rights, the District Legal Services Authority organized a special camp providing women with information about laws and their legal rights. Additionally, the health department set up a camp to offer essential health information and guidance to women.

At the end of the day, winners from various competitions were awarded prizes. The Dayanand College campus was vibrant with festive colors, thanks to the lehariya outfits, traditional decorations, and entertaining programs throughout the day.
