GBH Performs First Successful Kidney Transplant

Udaipur, July 11, 2026 (Daily Udaipur): In a major milestone for advanced healthcare services in the region, GBH General Hospital has successfully performed its first kidney transplant, giving a new lease of life to a 38-year-old man from Bhilwara and bringing hope to patients suffering from severe kidney disease.

The journey began in November 2025 when Yuvraj, a father of two young children, started experiencing persistent back pain. Initially considered a minor health issue, medical investigations later revealed that both of his kidneys had been severely damaged. The diagnosis changed the course of life for Yuvraj and his family, who soon found themselves moving from one hospital to another in search of treatment.

The family consulted several specialists and Yuvraj underwent treatment in Ahmedabad for 15 days. Despite medical efforts, his condition continued to deteriorate and he eventually had to start dialysis. Doctors informed the family that both kidneys had stopped functioning and that lifelong dialysis or a kidney transplant were the only available treatment options.

According to his wife Mamta, the news left the family devastated. Married for 17 years and raising two young children, the couple faced uncertainty about the future. The growing medical challenges and concerns about their children’s future made the situation even more difficult.

A turning point came when Yuvraj met nephrologist Dr. Anurag Jain during his visit to Bhilwara. After reviewing the medical reports, Dr. Jain strongly recommended a kidney transplant and assured the family that timely treatment could significantly improve Yuvraj’s condition.

Following the advice, compatibility tests were conducted for both Yuvraj’s wife Mamta and his brother Dilip. Medical evaluations confirmed that both were eligible donors.
