
New Delhi, March 9: Renowned actor and director Satish Kaushik may no longer be with us, but his legacy continues to resonate through his films. Today marks his death anniversary, and on this occasion, his close friend and co-star Jackie Shroff took a moment to remember him.
Satish Kaushik brought laughter and emotion to millions through his comedy, direction, and acting. In a touching tribute, Jackie shared a photo of Satish on his Instagram Stories, writing, “We remember Satish Ji on his death anniversary.”
The bond between Satish and Jackie was strong, as they collaborated on several Bollywood films, including the notable ‘Police Officer’ (1992) and ‘Talashi’ (1996). They also appeared together in other projects like ‘Bandish’ (1996).
Satish Kaushik contributed to many memorable films in Hindi cinema. He starred in hits like ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Baadal’, and ‘Sajan Chale Sasural’, but he is particularly remembered for his role as ‘Calendar’ in ‘Mr. India’. His character ‘Pappu Pager’ in ‘Ram Lakhan’ also left a lasting impression on audiences.
For his work, Satish received the Best Comedian award at the Filmfare Awards for ‘Ram Lakhan’ (1989) and ‘Sajan Chale Sasural’ (1996). Beyond acting, he was also a director and producer, known for his humorous dialogues.
He began his career as an assistant director in the 1983 film ‘Masoom’, where he also acted. His directorial debut was ‘Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja’, and his most successful directorial venture was ‘Tere Naam’ (2003) featuring Salman Khan.
Additionally, Satish wrote dialogues for ‘Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro’ (1983) and worked across OTT platforms, television, and theater.
