New Delhi, November 8: Former Deputy Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna recipient LK Advani turned 99 on Sunday, coinciding with Diwali this year. BJP National President Nitin Naveen visited Advani’s residence in Delhi to extend birthday greetings.

Naveen praised Advani’s public life as a testament to the principle of “Nation First,” highlighting his unwavering dedication from the tragedy of partition to nation-building. He expressed that Advani’s philosophy of “Nation First, Party Next, Self Last” continues to inspire BJP’s organizational culture and its workers. On this auspicious occasion, Naveen prayed to Lord Ram for Advani’s good health and longevity.

In photos from the meeting, Advani was seen seated in a maroon kurta with a white shawl, sporting a tilak on his forehead and a mask on his face. Behind him was a life-sized portrait and the national flag. Naveen stood beside him in one image, while others were present in another.

Advani had recently spent three days in the hospital due to a chest infection, receiving treatment at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi. He was discharged on October 19, just three weeks prior to his birthday. Central Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda had visited him during his hospital stay. Advani resides in a government bungalow at 30, Prithviraj Road in Lutyens’ Delhi.

On his birthday, Naveen shared two videos commemorating Advani. One highlighted Advani’s historic Rath Yatra, which invigorated the Ram Mandir movement, culminating in the construction of a grand temple in Ayodhya under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership. The second video reflected on the unique collaboration between Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, emphasizing their different personalities yet shared commitment to a common goal.
