
Pratapgarh, March 16: The police of Pratapgarh, in collaboration with the District Special Team (DST), executed a significant operation against illegal liquor. They seized a large cache of illicit alcohol, including 38 cartons filled with foreign liquor, country-made spirits, and beer, leading to the arrest of two suspects. The estimated value of the confiscated alcohol is around ₹1.25 lakh.
Under the direction of District Superintendent of Police B. Aditya and with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Gajendra Singh Jodha and Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Kumar Jakhad, this operation was carried out. Acting on a tip-off from the DST, a police team led by Station House Officer Manish Vaishnav set up a blockade near Ratanpuria village.
During the search of a Mahindra Major 4×4 jeep (RJ 09 UA 2147), a substantial amount of illegal liquor was discovered. The police recovered 17 cartons of Kingfisher beer, 1 carton of Tuborg beer, 16 cartons of Kingfisher beer cans, 50 pouches of Royal Stag whiskey, 20 pouches of MCD Number One whiskey, and 71 pouches of Mirinda Kempa country liquor.
The police arrested Rahul Meena (25) from Haat Salmgarh and Rakesh Meena (23) from Siyakhedi. The jeep used for transporting the illegal liquor was also seized. The police have registered a case against the accused and initiated further investigations.
