Chittorgarh: In a shocking incident, a Vivo mobile phone explosion resulted in severe burns to a 50-year-old tent trader, identified as Ram Kishan Sharma, son of Mathura Lal Sharma, in Lasadiya Khurd village. The victim was rushed to the district hospital for treatment, where his condition is being closely monitored.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning when Ram Kishan was sleeping in his office. The mobile phone, placed on the bed beside him, suddenly exploded, igniting the bedding. Caught off guard, Ram Kishan sustained burns as the fire spread rapidly. Hearing his cries for help, the staff present nearby rushed in and managed to douse the flames, preventing further damage.
Despite their efforts, a portion of the office, along with essential equipment and supplies, was damaged in the fire. Ram Kishan, who had suffered significant burns, was immediately taken to the district hospital by his family, where he is receiving medical care.
Investigation Underway
The cause of the mobile explosion is yet to be determined. Authorities have been informed, and an investigation has been initiated to ascertain whether the incident was due to a faulty battery or another technical issue with the device.
Safety Concerns with Mobile Devices
This incident once again raises concerns about the safety of mobile phone batteries and charging practices. Experts have repeatedly advised users to avoid keeping mobile phones on beds or near flammable materials, especially while charging. Though rare, such explosions can have serious consequences.
