Jaipur, April 10: The political landscape in Rajasthan is heating up over the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS). Opposition leader Tika Ram Jully has leveled serious accusations against the government, stating that employees and pensioners are struggling to obtain necessary medications, despite regular deductions from their salaries for this purpose. He highlighted that many hospitals have halted services due to non-payment, refusing to provide medications to RGHS cardholders.
Jully expressed deep concern, particularly for elderly pensioners who frequently require hospital visits post-retirement. He questioned where employees and pensioners should turn in such dire circumstances. “Does the government not see the hardships faced by the state’s employees and elderly in securing their medications?” he asked.
He urged Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma to intervene immediately, demanding the release of the pending RGHS budget and prompt payment to hospitals to alleviate the situation for employees and pensioners. Jully warned that if a resolution is not reached soon, the issue could escalate, leading to increased public dissatisfaction with the government.
This matter has evolved beyond mere health services; it is now a significant issue of administrative accountability and social security. Experts believe that if the government fails to act swiftly, thousands of families will be adversely affected, jeopardizing the scheme’s credibility.
