Porsche Macan S and GTS Petrol Variants Discontinued in India, Limited Stock Remains

In a significant shift aligning with global electrification trends, Porsche has officially discontinued the petrol-powered Macan S and GTS variants in India. The German automaker has delisted both models from its official India website, signaling the end of their production and availability in the domestic market. However, limited stocks are still available at select dealerships for a short period.

Petrol Macan S and GTS Exit Indian Lineup

Porsche began phasing out its internal combustion engine (ICE) Macan variants globally in 2023, with a complete worldwide phaseout expected by 2026. In India, this move narrows the Macan lineup to the base model powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, producing 261 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. This variant is currently priced at ₹96.05 lakh (ex-showroom).

The now-discontinued Macan S and GTS were more performance-focused offerings. Both came with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine. The Macan S delivered 375 bhp and 520 Nm of torque, while the Macan GTS took it further with 434 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. These models were priced at ₹1.45 crore and ₹1.53 crore, respectively (ex-showroom).

Electric Macan Takes Center Stage

With the petrol Macan S and GTS off the shelves, Porsche India will now focus on the electric Macan lineup. The all-new Macan Electric, Macan 4S Electric, and Macan Turbo Electric have been introduced, with prices starting from ₹1.21 crore and extending up to ₹1.69 crore (ex-showroom). These electric SUVs promise high performance, tech-forward cabins, and sustainable mobility, echoing Porsche’s global EV push.

Price Hikes Across Porsche Portfolio in India

In addition to streamlining the Macan range, Porsche has also increased prices across its India portfolio:

  • Porsche 911: ₹2.11 crore to ₹2.84 crore (up by ₹9-12 lakh)

  • Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe: ₹1.47 crore to ₹2.10 crore (up by ₹5-10 lakh)

  • Panamera and Panamera GTS: ₹1.80 crore to ₹2.50 crore (up by ₹10-16 lakh)

  • Taycan (All-electric): ₹1.70 crore to ₹2.70 crore (up to ₹16 lakh increase)

These updates reflect global inflationary pressures, increased component costs, and a strategic pivot to premium EVs.
