Mumbai, April 8, 2025 — Salman Khan’s much-anticipated film Sikandar is showing signs of slowing down at the box office. On its ninth day, the action entertainer managed to collect just ₹1.75 crore, marking its lowest single-day collection since release.
Disappointing Second Week for Sikandar
Released on March 30, 2025, Sikandar opened strongly with ₹26 crore on day one and saw a slight bump on its second day (₹29 crore) due to Eid festivities. However, after that initial momentum, the film has witnessed a consistent decline in collections.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s total domestic collection now stands at ₹104.25 crore. While Sikandar did manage to cross the ₹100 crore milestone within its first week, it took a full seven days to get there — a sluggish pace for a Salman Khan film.
Star Power Fails to Offset Weak Storyline
Despite boasting a star-studded cast including Rashmika Mandanna, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and a special role by Kajal Aggarwal, the film’s weak screenplay and underwhelming performances have failed to win over audiences or critics.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, known for the blockbuster Ghajini, the film was expected to be a high-octane action drama. However, it appears that even his direction couldn’t salvage the script’s shortcomings.
Salman Khan Responds to Audience Reaction
Reports suggest that Salman Khan has taken note of the lukewarm response. In a recent interaction with fans, the Bollywood megastar reportedly acknowledged the criticism and promised to be more discerning in his future film choices.
While fans had high expectations from Sikandar as a mass entertainer, especially after a long wait to see Khan in an action-heavy avatar, the current box office trends indicate that the film may struggle to maintain momentum in the coming weeks.
