April 9, 2025 Mumbai, India Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s latest action drama Sikandar is turning out to be one of the biggest box office disappointments of the year. Despite its high expectations and star-studded cast, the film has failed to strike a chord with the audience and has now recorded its lowest single-day collection on Day 10, earning just ₹1.35 crore, according to Sacnilk reports.

Sharp Decline in Occupancy and Audience Interest
Sikandar, directed by A.R. Murugadoss (of Ghajini fame) and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, was released on March 30, 2025, and opened to massive buzz. However, after an initial boost during the Eid weekend, the film’s performance has steadily declined. Reports of cancelled shows and empty theatres in key regions have only added to the negative sentiment.
On Tuesday (Day 10), the film registered a mere 7.55% occupancy, collecting ₹1.35 crore, taking its total earnings to ₹105.60 crore. This figure falls drastically short of the film’s ₹200 crore budget, putting its box office recovery in serious doubt.
10-Day Box Office Breakdown of Sikandar
-
Day 1 (March 30) ₹26 crore
-
Day 2 (Eid holiday) ₹29 crore
-
Day 3 ₹19.5 crore
-
Day 4 ₹9.75 crore
-
Day 5 ₹6 crore
-
Day 6 ₹3.5 crore
-
Day 7 ₹4 crore
-
Day 8 ₹4.75 crore
-
Day 9 ₹1.75 crore
-
Day 10 ₹1.35 crore
Total: ₹105.60 crore
Despite a promising start, the sharp decline in daily collections signals a complete disconnect with the audience. Critics cite the weak storyline and underwhelming performances as primary reasons for its downfall.
Star Power Fails to Save Sikandar
The film stars Salman Khan in the lead alongside Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi, Sathyaraj, and Kajal Aggarwal. With such a powerful ensemble and a director known for blockbusters, expectations were sky-high. Unfortunately, poor reviews and negative word of mouth have overshadowed its box office appeal.
Unless a significant turnaround happens in the coming days, Sikandar is on track to be marked as a major flop, struggling to even recover its production costs.
