TRAI Data and Call Quality Tests: Jio Tops the Charts

New Delhi, January 14, 2025: Reliance Jio has emerged as the top performer in the data and voice quality tests conducted by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) across Delhi, Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Ahmednagar. The tests, conducted between September and October 2024, revealed Jio’s dominance with an average download speed of 251 Mbps, leaving competitors far behind.

Jio’s Speed Advantage:
Jio recorded download speeds 1.5 times faster than Airtel and a staggering 9 times faster than Vodafone Idea (Vi).

- Airtel: 160 Mbps
- Vi: 28 Mbps
City-wise Breakdown:
- Delhi: Jio maintained an average speed of 231 Mbps, compared to Airtel’s 171 Mbps and Vi’s 14 Mbps.
- Jaipur: Jio led the chart with a remarkable speed of 356 Mbps, 140 Mbps higher than Airtel’s 216 Mbps.
- Hyderabad: Jio’s speed outpaced Airtel by 45 Mbps.
- Ahmednagar: Jio maintained a lead with speeds 116 Mbps higher than Airtel’s performance.

Call Quality Results

Call Setup Success Rate:
Jio achieved an impressive 99.9% success rate in call setup across Jaipur, Hyderabad, and Ahmednagar.

Call Setup Time:
Jio also recorded the fastest call setup time, averaging 0.75 seconds.
