Pratapgarh, March 26: The Arnod police in Pratapgarh district conducted a significant operation named “Operation Trinetra,” resulting in the seizure of 4.75 kilograms of illegal marijuana. The estimated value of the confiscated drugs is around 300,000 rupees. Authorities also impounded a motorcycle used for transporting the narcotics.
According to reports, the police received a tip-off from an informant, prompting them to set up a blockade on the route from Gautameshwar to Odha, near the Rampuriya Ghati. During this operation, they spotted an individual riding a motorcycle without a license plate, with a white bag strapped to his back.
Upon noticing the police, the rider abandoned the motorcycle and fled into the nearby forest. Despite extensive searches, the dense jungle hindered the police from locating the suspect. Upon inspecting the abandoned bag, officers discovered it contained marijuana weighing 4.75 kilograms.
The police have registered a case under the NDPS Act at the Arnod police station, seizing both the marijuana and the motorcycle. The suspect has been identified as Shankarlal Meena, a resident of Mahudi Sodalpura, and efforts to apprehend him are ongoing.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter, intensifying efforts to capture the fugitive.
