Beijing, February 26: Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Buds 8 Lite, also known as the Youth Edition, in China. Priced at 139 yuan (approximately $20), these earbuds present an affordable option in the active noise cancellation (ANC) market. Xiaomi initially introduced them globally in January for €22.9.
Specifications of Redmi Buds 8 Lite
The Redmi Buds 8 Lite boasts 42dB wide-frequency active noise cancellation, utilizing hybrid ANC TECHNOLOGY to effectively reduce low-frequency sounds such as subway noise and air conditioning. It features dual-mic AI noise reduction for clear call quality in noisy environments, along with a wind-noise reduction algorithm that can withstand wind speeds up to 6m/s.
Equipped with a 12.4mm titanium-diaphragm dynamic driver, these earbuds support AAC and SBC codecs, ensuring sound quality even at lower bitrates. The Redmi Buds 8 Lite offers an impressive battery life of up to 36 hours with the charging case and 8 hours of playback on a single charge. Fast charging capability allows for 2 hours of listening time from just a 10-minute charge.
Additionally, the Redmi Buds 8 Lite supports dual-device connectivity, enabling users to pair two devices simultaneously and switch between them seamlessly. The Xiaomi earbuds app allows users to adjust noise cancellation levels, customize EQ settings, and modify gesture controls.
Designed for comfort and practicality, each earbud weighs only 4.5 grams and comes with multiple ear tip sizes for a secure fit. With an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, these earbuds are suitable for everyday use.
The Redmi Buds 8 Lite utilizes Bluetooth 5.4 for reliable connectivity and is available in three colors: Blue, Black, and White.
In related news, Oppo has recently launched the Enco Air 5 Pro featuring LHDC 5.0 audio, AI call noise reduction, and up to 54 hours of battery life. Meanwhile, leaks suggest that the Realme Buds T500 Pro will offer 50dB ANC, Bluetooth 6.1, and a remarkable 56-hour battery life.
