
Udaipur, March 19: Dr. Ashwin Mahesh Dalvi has officially assumed the role of Director of the Western Regional Cultural Centre for a three-year term. Previously, he served as the President of the Lalit Kala Akademi, Rajasthan, holding the rank of a state minister.
A disciple of the renowned Surbahar player Pandit Arvind Parikh from the Itawa gharana, Dr. Dalvi has gained significant recognition through his performances on both national and international stages. He is the son of the late esteemed art guru, Shri Mahesh Dalvi.
On this occasion, Furqan Khan, the Director of the North Zone Cultural Centre in Patiala, who also held the additional responsibility of the Western Regional Cultural Centre, welcomed Dr. Dalvi to his new office and officially handed over the position.
Centre officials and staff were present during the ceremony. Under Dr. Dalvi’s leadership, there is optimism for new direction and momentum in the activities of the Western Regional Cultural Centre.
It is noteworthy that the Western Regional Cultural Centre is responsible for cultural activities across Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli.
