Celebrating 150 Years of Vande Mataram: Special Events from March 23 to 30

Udaipur, March 21:
To commemorate the 150th anniversary of the national song “Vande Mataram,” the state government is organizing a series of events across the region from March 23 to 30. District Collector Namit Mehta has appointed ADM Administration Deependra Singh Rathore as the nodal officer to ensure smooth execution of these activities. During a meeting on Friday, ADM Rathore provided essential guidelines to departmental officials.

The special phase will kick off on March 23, coinciding with the martyrdom day of Bhagat Singh. Collective singing of “Vande Mataram” will take place at government offices, educational institutions, district headquarters, urban bodies, and key locations at the tehsil level. Additionally, a live broadcast of the state-level main event will be conducted to encourage maximum participation. Cultural presentations will include solo and group performances, choreographed acts, and theatrical and musical tributes based on the lives of freedom fighters.

Innovative activities will also be featured, such as selfie booths themed around “Vande Mataram,” digital engagement initiatives, and the VM Frames film competition, aimed at increasing youth involvement. Students will participate in activities like letter writing to freedom fighters and expressing thoughts on patriotism. Audio-visual messages, short films, and creative presentations related to “Vande Mataram” will be broadcasted through LED screens and digital platforms.

To enhance public participation, citizens will be encouraged to engage with the official website of Vande Mataram @ 150 by uploading sing-along videos, selfies, and short clips, fostering a nationwide connection. ADM Rathore instructed all relevant departments to ensure that events are conducted with dignity, enthusiasm, and coordination, and to timely upload information about each activity on the portal.

The meeting was attended by various officials, including Municipal Corporation Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Mandovra, ACEO Veeramaram, CDEO Pratibha Gupta, Deputy Director of Tourism Shikha Saxena, Assistant Director of College Education Dr. Satish Kumar Acharya, Secondary Education DEO Lokesh Bharti, Primary Education DEO Chandrashekhar Joshi, Assistant Director of Social Justice and Empowerment Arushi Jain, NCC Liaison Officer PS Shrimali, and Scout CO Surendra Pandey.
