
Udaipur, March 27: A grand equipment distribution camp was organized at the Kotda sub-district headquarters in compliance with the state government’s budget announcement for the welfare of persons with disabilities. This initiative, conducted by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, district administration, and the Bhagwan Mahavir Disability Assistance Committee, aimed to enhance the lives of 110 beneficiaries.
The chief guest for the event was Sub-Divisional Officer Kapil Kothari, while Girish Bhatnagar, Joint Director of the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, presided over the proceedings. Notable attendees included former head Smt. Sugna Devi, Development Officer Shambhu Ram Garasia, social worker Ranjit Singh, and community leaders Himmat Tawar and Suresh Kher.
During the camp, experts assessed disabilities and distributed essential aids such as tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids, smart canes, calipers, and crutches based on individual needs. SDO Kapil Kothari emphasized the importance of obtaining a Unique Disability ID card to ensure beneficiaries can access government schemes without hindrance.
Social Security Officer Praveen Paneri facilitated the event, providing detailed information about various welfare schemes offered by the department. The technical support team from the Bhagwan Mahavir Disability Assistance Committee, including Deepak Mehta, Rajendra Sen, Bhawar Kanwar, and Arjun Soni, contributed significantly to the camp’s success. At the conclusion of the program, Junior Accountant Prem Shankar Meghwal expressed gratitude to all guests and participants.
