BJP Leader Dr. Radha Mohan Agarwal Criticizes Congress on Emergency Anniversary

Ajmer, June 25: Dr. Radha Mohan Agarwal, the BJP’s Rajasthan in-charge and National General Secretary, visited Ajmer on Thursday. He attended the “Constitution Murder Day” event, marking the anniversary of the Emergency. During his address, he launched a strong attack on Congress, stating that the party observes the 1975 Emergency as a “black day” due to the infringement of citizens’ rights during that period.

Dr. Agarwal emphasized that Congress had assaulted the spirit of democracy and the Constitution by imposing the Emergency. He accused the party of suppressing civil liberties, freedom of expression, and democratic rights in 1975. He noted that Congress’s mindset remains unchanged, reflecting a consistent approach over the decades.

He remarked that while 50 years have passed since the Emergency, Congress has not evolved. He criticized Congress leaders for still advocating for a ban on the RSS, asserting that in a democracy, ideas should compete with ideas, not through restrictions.

Congress Labeled Anti-Democratic
Referencing the Emergency, Dr. Agarwal accused Congress of stripping the public of their constitutional rights. He pointed out that while the British and Mughals were external forces, Congress has suppressed the rights of the people from within the country.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s approach, highlighting the significant difference between the current and previous administrations: Modi directly engages with the public. He stated that the BJP is committed to strengthening democracy.

On Cabinet Expansion: Ask the Chief Minister
When questioned about cabinet expansion, Dr. Agarwal advised that inquiries should be directed to the Chief Minister. He mentioned that discussions between the party and the government are internal matters. Decisions will be communicated when finalized, and he refrained from answering hypothetical questions.

Dr. Agarwal confirmed that the BJP is fully active in preparing for organizational elections and political strategies. He stressed that the party cannot rely solely on the government, hence the need for robust organizational readiness for electoral battles.

Discussion with Local Leaders
Earlier, a meeting was held with local body leaders at a resort on Jaipur Road in Ajmer. The meeting was addressed by Dr. Agarwal and Minister of Autonomous Governance, Jhabar Singh Kharra. A total of 116 leaders from municipal corporations, councils, and municipalities were invited.

The discussions focused on organizational strength, the role of local bodies, and upcoming political preparations. BJP leaders urged local heads to maintain better coordination between the organization and elected representatives in their areas.

Kharra: Government Ready for Elections
During the meeting, Minister Kharra also spoke to reporters about the upcoming local elections. He stated that the government is prepared to conduct elections, pending the report from the OBC Commission.

Kharra criticized Congress, suggesting that if they desire early elections, they should submit a demand stating they do not require the OBC Commission’s report. He affirmed that the government supports conducting elections following the necessary procedures.

Avoiding Public Criticism of Government Work
In response to questions about the Rajasthan government‘s performance, Dr. Agarwal remarked that no mother would publicly criticize her child. He emphasized that attempts to entrap him in discussions should be avoided, as he cannot disclose matters related to the government publicly. He reiterated that communication between the organization and the government is an internal issue.

Regarding allegations made by Minister Kirori Lal Meena, Dr. Agarwal stated he was unaware of any such matter, having come directly to Ajmer without visiting Jaipur. He mentioned he would gather information before making any comments.

On Gehlot: “Keep Critics Close”
Dr. Agarwal concluded with a saying about critics, suggesting that they should be kept close.
