Congress Leader Vishvendra Singh Critiques Party Leadership in Open Letter

Jaipur, October 9: Former minister and Congress leader Vishvendra Singh has raised concerns about his party’s functioning in a lengthy Facebook post on Friday morning. He expressed dissatisfaction with the leadership of the Rajasthan Congress, the state of the organization, and the respect afforded to senior leaders.

Singh remarked, “The party that ruled the country for 60 years has no authority in Rajasthan today, and it has become reliant on fate.” He criticized party leaders for undermining their own support base, stating, “Individuals with self-respect are now suffocating within the party.”

In his letter, Singh urged the state Congress leaders to move beyond ego and delusion, warning that otherwise, the party’s remaining strength will vanish. He accused the Congress of lacking respect for seniority, failing to guide the youth, and lacking a clear vision for empowering women. He appealed to the high command to address these issues.

Singh reflected on his public service, stating that he has always fulfilled his responsibilities as a legislator, MP, and minister with integrity and dedication. He emphasized that he has consistently supported what is right and has prioritized the public’s voice above party politics.

He asserted, “What I said, I said openly, and what I did, I did for the public good.” Citing the dignity of his ancestors, personal pride, and principles as the foundation of his decisions, Singh noted that he has often paid the price for loyalty but has remained steadfast in his values. He reiterated his commitment to staying away from sycophancy and remaining connected with party workers, describing his life as an open book.

At the conclusion of his letter, he stated that at this stage of his life, he expects nothing from anyone but seeks the love of the public. Expressing faith in his deity, Giriraj Maharaj, he prayed to remain on the path of truth and declared that he leaves the decision about his political future to the people, promising to honor their wishes.

This letter comes on the day when the deadline for a notice from the Congress disciplinary committee expires. The notice, issued by committee chairman and former cabinet minister Udaylal Anjana on October 2, required a response within seven days, making today, October 9, the final day for a reply.

In this letter, Singh did not address the notice or any potential disciplinary action. He had previously stated that he would respond to either Anjana or Dotasra first. As of now, there has been no response from the Congress regarding Singh’s latest letter.
