New Delhi, April 21 The Indian Army has opened the online application window for the recruitment of 400 Medical Officers (MOs) in the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) through Short Service Commission (SSC). Eligible male and female MBBS/PG candidates can apply from April 19 to May 12, 2025 via the official website: join.afms.gov.in.

Eligibility Criteria

Education: Final MBBS (Part I & II) passed in ≤2 attempts. NEET PG (2023/2024) required unless PG degree already obtained.
Registration: Must be registered with any State Medical Council, NMC, or MCI.
Internship: Completed by March 31, 2025.
Age Limit:
- MBBS: ≤30 years (Born on or after Jan 2, 1996)
- PG Degree Holders: ≤35 years (Born on or after Jan 2, 1991)

Selection Process

Shortlisting via NEET PG Score
- Score converted out of 200
- Separate merit lists for male/female
- 8x applicants per vacancy called for interview
Interview at Delhi Cantt (From June 19, 2025)
- Evaluates communication, personality, suitability
- First-time candidates receive 3rd AC travel fare reimbursement
Medical Examination
- Conducted by Special Medical Board
- Re-appeal allowed through Appeal/Review Medical Board
Final Merit List
- Must score minimum 50% in interview
- Final merit = NEET PG Score (200) + Interview (50)
- Only medically fit candidates will receive joining letters
