Jaipur, June 11: Former Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot, has addressed his recent statements regarding Sachin Pilot, asserting that his comments were made with complete honesty and sincerity. He emphasized that he had no intention of accusing anyone or making personal remarks. Gehlot clarified that his aim was to present the political events and circumstances that have shaped public perception about him.
Gehlot noted that there has been a narrative suggesting he declined the position of Congress President to remain in the Chief Minister role. He stated that he spoke in response to the confusion surrounding this perception. His goal was to bring forth the facts for better understanding of the actual circumstances.
The former Chief Minister expressed that if there are any factual inaccuracies in his statements or if anyone has objections, they are welcome to communicate directly with him. He affirmed his readiness to answer all questions and engage in open discussions on any topic. Gehlot pointed out that his statements have been misinterpreted without a comprehensive understanding of the political developments.
He stressed that he has not accused any individual nor attempted to damage anyone’s reputation. His intention was solely to highlight the circumstances affecting the political landscape at that time. Gehlot asserted that open discussions about facts and events are essential in a democracy, and presenting the real situation is part of political responsibility.
Gehlot also responded to Sachin Pilot’s recent comment, where Pilot mentioned that Gehlot considers him like a son. Gehlot agreed, stating that he has known Pilot since childhood and they have worked together for a long time. He indicated that personal relationships and political differences should be viewed from different perspectives.
Amid ongoing internal political tensions within the Rajasthan Congress, Gehlot’s statements are seen as significant. While he defended his previous remarks, he also signaled a willingness to engage in dialogue and discussion, suggesting a move towards resolving conflicts.
