BJP Leaders Ignore Own Call for Eco-Friendly Transport During Mann Ki Baat Event

Jaipur, May 31: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program prompted the BJP to organize special events across the state on Sunday. The party urged its leaders, officials, and workers to attend using electric vehicles (EVs), bicycles, carpooling, public transport, or by walking. The aim was to promote energy conservation and fuel savings. However, the reality on the ground told a different story.

At the BJP’s state office in Jaipur, most officials and leaders arrived in their personal petrol and diesel vehicles. Despite the party’s appeal, very few leaders opted for carpooling, public transport, or bicycles. Most arrived alone in their own cars.

Among those who attended were General Secretary Bhupendra Saini, State Ministers Apoorva Singh, Ekta Agarwal, Ajit Mandan, former State Minister Vasudev Chawla, State Executive Member Jyoti Khandelwal, Jaipur City President Amit Goyal, and State Media Coordinator Pramod Vashisth, all of whom drove their personal vehicles.

However, some officials did heed the organization’s call. State President Madan Rathore, Women’s Wing President Rakhi Rathore, Office In-Charge Mukesh Parikh, and State Spokesperson Narendra Katara arrived in electric vehicles. Additionally, State General Secretary Mukesh Dadhich participated through carpooling.

Earlier, State General Secretary Shravan Bagri stated that the BJP aims to spread Prime Minister Modi’s message of energy conservation and prudent resource use to the public. He mentioned that participants in the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program were encouraged to come via EVs, e-rickshaws, bicycles, or on foot to set a positive example in society.

Bagri also noted that the BJP organization is working towards reducing energy and fuel consumption in its offices by up to 50%. However, the scene at the state office highlighted the disparity between the organization’s appeal and the behavior of its leaders.
