BJP Prepares Comprehensive Report Card for 61,000 Booths Ahead of Urban Body Elections

Jaipur, August 11: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is intensifying its organizational preparations at the booth level in Rajasthan ahead of the upcoming urban body elections. The party is developing a political report card for approximately 61,000 booths. Each booth will be categorized into grades A, B, C, and D based on the party’s performance in previous Lok Sabha, assembly, and local body elections.

The party believes that in urban body elections, not only the government’s achievements matter but also the candidate’s local acceptability, the activity of booth organizations, and continuous outreach to voters play a crucial role. Therefore, strategies are being formulated to identify both the strongest and weakest booths in advance.

Reorganization of Booth Committees
Once the report card is ready, there are plans to enhance organizational activities at weaker booths. This will involve restructuring booth committees, recruiting new workers, increasing contact with local influencers, and prioritizing voter engagement.

The organization will assess the activity of workers at the booth level, analyze data from past elections, and evaluate local political dynamics. The goal is to strengthen organizational presence in areas where performance has been consistently weak before the elections.

Grade A: The Strongest Booths
According to the proposed grading system, Grade A will include booths where the party has won in all three elections: Lok Sabha, assembly, and local bodies. These booths will be considered the party’s strongest base.

Grade B: Weakness at the Local Level
Grade B will consist of booths where the BJP has won in Lok Sabha and assembly elections but lagged in local body elections. Local candidates, organizational issues, and matters related to the municipal body will be reviewed separately for these booths.

Grade C: Loss in Two Elections
Grade C will include booths where the BJP has won only one of the last three elections, facing losses in the other two. There is a recognized need for increased organizational activity here.

Grade D: Continuous Losses
The weakest booths, classified as Grade D, will be those where the party has lost in all three elections: Lok Sabha, assembly, and local bodies. These booths will be marked as areas requiring special focus, with new strategies being developed at the local level.

Attention to Local Issues and Youth Movements
In light of recent youth movements, the rising resonance of local issues, and signals from by-elections in other states, the party organization is adopting a more vigilant strategy. Data-driven preparations are being made at every level, from ticket distribution to booth management, for the urban body elections.

The BJP aims to strengthen its organization at weaker booths before the elections while maintaining its lead at stronger booths. This strategy involves a political and organizational assessment of booths across the state.
